The Children’s Home of Cincinnati receives $25K from The Spaulding Foundation

Cincinnati, Ohio – The Children’s Home of Cincinnati announced today that it was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $25,000 from The Spaulding Foundation. The grant will support the school-based mental health services. The Children’s Home of Cincinnati school-based services are designed to help reduce barriers to learning by improving the social, behavioral, and emotional well-being of children.

The children who receive therapy yield significant, life-changing benefits when they learn how to appropriately express their feelings and control their behaviors, which then results in increased academic success. This impact gains momentum as the entire school population benefits when these children can function in the classroom without causing distraction and disruption for their peers and teachers.

The Spaulding Foundation awards grants to organizations that improve the quality of life in the Hamilton County, Ohio community in the areas of mental and physical disabilities, substance abuse prevention, and care for women and children subjected to violence or abuse.

“We are conscious of the effects childhood mental illness can have emotionally and behaviorally on children and their families,” said Debbie Gingrich, Director of Behavioral Health for The Children’s Home of Cincinnati. “With these grants, we aim to provide supports to minimize the effects of mental illness and childhood trauma to make a difference in the quality of life and care for these children and their families.”
