Success Stories
Adoption
Increased awareness of adoption services provides hope for children like James, who was adopted at age nine by Kathy, who was unsure about her eligibility as an adoptive parent due to her single status. She quickly learned that adoptive parents aren't required to be married, own their own home or earn a high income to provide a loving home for a waiting child. Kathy has since married and her new husband, Chris, is in the process of adopting James through our step-parent adoption services.

Early Childhood
“I would like to take this opportunity to commend you and your staff on the preparation curriculum for kindergarten for (our son) J.G. Joe and I just had our first parent/teacher conference with regards to his progress and he scored well above average in all categories.…..I believe that his experience at The Children’s Home is directly responsible for a great deal of that success. J.G. was always so excited for his kindergarten classes, and (his sister) Mary page is equally excited – it is always a big topic of weekly conversation!......your program is such a wonderful vehicle to introduce these children to kindergarten skills in a way that builds their confidence and fosters their curiosity. Keep up the great work! We are so pleased with our Children’s Home experience.”
With regards,
Tracy W. Mason

Education
Matt came to The Children’s Home School after the symptoms of a serious developmental diagnosis had isolated him from his peers and severely challenged his ability to succeed in the classroom. Matt spent two years at The Children’s Home, accompanied by a unique form of assistance…the daily presence of his grandfather. Matt’s grandfather attended each class, intervening when Matt was too frustrated to continue. His patience and gentle guidance – coupled with the expertise of the school staff – enabled Matt to experience educational success for the first time. Matt has since moved on to a new local private school and continues to achieve his goals.
