We provide an alternative academic placement for children in grades K-8 who have difficulty succeeding in traditional school settings due to social, emotional and/or developmental issues. Children benefit from low teacher-to-student ratios and highly structured classes that focus on each student’s individual needs. Each of our ten classrooms is staffed by a certified teacher. Additional support staff provide instruction and individual assistance, and the school’s curriculum includes a social skills class that addresses the social, emotional and developmental difficulties of the children we educate. Every member of our school staff is specially trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, which helps to identify and manage the unique needs of our students. The school incorporates a behavior modification system that encourages each student to practice and internalize positive, effective behavior.
