On October 14, Congressman Brad Wenstrup visited and toured The Levine Family Health Center on the campus of The Children’s Home of Cincinnati.

Wenstrup toured the building, located at 5051 Duck Creek Road, where he learned more about day-to-day operations and the different patients served.

This was Wenstrup’s first trip to this facility since it opened on September 6. During the tour, Wenstrup, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity brought his vision of raising awareness of the community clinics that provide high quality, cost-effective healthcare to economically under-served areas. As a doctor, he supports a health-care approach that is market-based solutions which protects the doctor-patient relationship.

The Congressman was joined by John Banchy, The Children’s Home of Cincinnati’s, President and CEO, Barb Terry, COO, and Francie Wolgen from Interact for Health.

According to Banchy, the recent addition of the Levine Family Health Center has enhanced the ability to provide health care to clients, students and neighborhood residents, and the continued support of the congressman will continue raise the success the center has had to date.

Wenstrup then wrapped up his one and a half hour saying, “These facilities serve some of the most medically under-served and low income communities in the United States, and play a critical role in America’s health care system.” He added, “There are 92 Federal programs for poverty. One of my goals as a Congressman is to promote comprehensive service delivery by providing citizens who are at risk with a path out of poverty.”
