The Children’s Home of Cincinnati awarded $5,000 grant for Art Therapy
Friday, December 9, 2016
The Children’s Home of Cincinnati is pleased to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from the Crosset Family Fund, which is a part of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. These funds will support the Art and Music Therapy programming for the campus based Autism High School.
Most commonly known as a creative method of expression that is used as a therapeutic technique, art and music therapy may focus on the creative art-making process itself, or on the analysis of expression gained through an exchange of patient/client interaction. In essence, art and music therapy is more than valuable to the special needs population that we serve.
“The grant is a vital piece of the funding puzzle that ensures strategies are implemented and resources are allocated to help students improve their mental, emotional, and even physical states.” Amanda Tipkemper, XXXX said. “We very much appreciate the generosity of the Crosset Family and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.”
The High School for Autism and Related Disorders was established by The Children’s Home in 2011 to meet the community’s need for educational and therapeutic options for high school students, as few resources were available for this age group. It provides individualized instruction, life skills, and job readiness training for students in grades 9-12.
The Greater Cincinnati Foundation administers grants to address a wide range of community needs and issues.
