All families encounter challenges that can seem overwhelming. Our family groups and support services offer guidance and resources for families caring for a child with a newly diagnosed disability, adults who are raising children other than their own, and caregivers of young children who need help to become kindergarten ready.
Promoting Resilient Children (PRC) Program
To help young children succeed, their caregivers need to know how to help them experience healthy social and emotional development. The Promoting Resilient Children (PRC) program addresses the needs of preschool children and the adults who care for them.
The goal of the PRC program is to increase the effectiveness of administrators, teachers, and other early care and education professionals in helping young children become kindergarten ready. Through on-site services in child care and education settings, our skilled professionals provide consultation, coaching, and training to help educators and caregivers enhance the social and emotional well-being of children so they are ready to succeed in school and in life.
For information about replicating the PRC program, please contact Patti Craig at (513) 527-7221 or pcraig@thechildrenshomecinti.org
Help Me Grow
Help Me Grow (HMG) family support services are offered through a collaboration with Lighthouse Youth Services, and are available to all families enrolled in the Hamilton County Help Me Grow program. Parent mentors experienced in caring for a child with a disability are paired with parents whose children have been newly diagnosed. The parent mentors offer one-on-one support from an experienced perspective, and additional services such as play groups, educational workshops, and social gatherings help parents navigate their journey and meet their child’s individual needs. Families interested in HMG can email us or call (513) 272-2800.
