Definition: Provides a full range of social work and mental health services for children and their families including diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, counseling and psychotherapy, and consultation. Carries a clinical caseload consisting of home-based, school-based, clinic-based and agency-based outpatient clients. II. Accountability: Reports to and is under the general direction of the Outpatient Counseling/Psychotherapy Supervisor, who reports to the Outpatient Services Program Manager. III. Responsibilities: • Conducts agency based, school-based, clinic-based and community based individual, group, and family therapy. Develops individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic assessment and other identified assessment tools in collaboration with clients and families/guardians. Formulates intervention objectives to meet child and family’s needs and delivers quality service based on the identified goals. Evaluates progress of each client at required intervals. As appropriate, provides in-kind services to the assigned school based on the needs of the school. Provides “on call” services, as required. (50%) • Consults and collaborates with internal as well as external service providers, agencies, schools, communities and resources on behalf of the child and family and as appropriate to specific outpatient role and function. (20%) • Completes all required reporting and documentation including but not limited to service tickets, progress notes, individualized treatment plans, Ohio Scales, discharge summaries, and other administrative duties as required. (15%) • Meets or exceeds department monthly and quarterly productivity (UR) requirements. (10%) • Attends trainings and agency or professional seminars and conferences to increase professional knowledge and skills. Attends agency and departmental meetings. Serves on agency-wide committees. (5%) • Performs other duties as may be assigned or delegated. IV. Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of one year of clinical experience in working with children and families. Certification (LPC, LSW, LPCC, or LISW) required. LISW or LPCC preferred.
Mental Health ServicesECMH Behavioral Health Counselor/TherapistDelivers an array of services, which meet the individualized mental health needs of the children and families served. Performs a variety of functions in multiple settings, displaying an understanding of family dynamics, cultural preferences, and community environments. Delivers services to client and/or any other individual who will assist in the client’s mental health treatment. Responsibilities: Conducts agency based as well as community based individual, group, and family therapy and/or CSP. Develops treatment plans, formulates and facilitates intervention objectives to meet child’s and family’s needs. Evaluates progress of each client, while providing coordination and/or assistance in crisis management and stabilization as needed. Provides a comprehensive and complete diagnostic assessment of each child referred for mental health service, which includes a conceptual and clinically significant behavioral or psychological picture. Make specific efforts to incorporate an awareness of culturally diverse populations through an understanding of the nuances of an individual and family’s cultural frame of reference. Completes all required statistical reporting data and documentation including but not limited to service tickets, progress notes, service plans, discharge summaries, and other reports as required, while meeting or exceeding all monthly and quarterly department productivity (UR) requirements.
