Counseling & Case Mgmt

The Children’s Home of Cincinnati offers a wide variety of Mental Health services to help children and their families thrive together at their full potential.

Mental Health Assessments

A clinical evaluation by a licensed professional helps to offer a full understanding about a child’s current challenges and mental health needs, and helps determine the most appropriate treatment.

Behavioral Counseling Therapy

When children experience social, emotional, and/or interpersonal difficulties, it affects their behavior and interferes with their daily lives. Individual and family counseling services are available to improve the functioning of the child and family. These services are provided at The Children’s Home campus and in home, school, and community settings.

Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST)

A child’s daily life can be significantly effected by emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. Our wide array of community-based treatment services are designed to help children function successfully in their natural environments. Caregivers are also helped to understand the mental health needs of their children and how to manage challenging behaviors in a positive way. The time, intensity, and type of activities provided are tailored to meet the specific needs and build on the existing strengths of each child and family.

Medication/Psychiatric Services

Medication and/or Psychiatric services are designed to reduce, stabilize, and/or eliminate psychiatric symptoms in children. Services are provided by a child psychiatrist and a registered nurse for children already participating in our Day Treatment, Behavioral Counseling Therapy, and/or Community Psychiatric Support services. Medication evaluation, review, follow-up and education are also provided.

Many services are Medicaid reimbursable. For more information, email us or call (513) 272-2800.
