Community Psychiatric Support

Community Psychiatric Support services consist of an array of community-based services that address the individual mental health needs of children ages 7-18. Services are provided to children who display emotional and/or behavioral symptoms that significantly interfere with their daily lives. Services are also provided to the families/significant others of the children served. The intensity, hours and type of activity provided depend on the specific needs and strengths of each child and family.

Community Psychiatric Support services may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Education and training specific to the child’s diagnosis and assessed needs
  • Ongoing assessment of needs (symptom monitoring)
  • Facilitating daily living skills development (Assisting the child in developing and engaging in positive social activities and age appropriate behaviors)
  • Linking to community resources
  • Crisis support
Children receiving Community Psychiatric Support may also be referred to our other Mental Health Services. For questions or more information, contact our Referral and Intake Department by e-mailing us or call (513) 272-2800.
