Our Mission
The mission of The Children's Home of Cincinnati is to transform the lives of vulnerable children through individualized treatment and education services that build the skills and confidence to succeed in life.
Our Treatment Philosophy: The Teaching Family Model
The Children’s Home of Cincinnati follows the principles of the Teaching Family Model (TFM) to help vulnerable children with social, behavioral, and learning challenges succeed in their home, school, and community environments. The Teaching Family Model is an evidence-based behavior modification practice that teaches at-risk children to improve their behaviors and social skills. This is done through individualized treatment and a highly structured motivational system, and is taught through modeling and positive relationships with highly skilled staff that have mastered the model through intensive training, evaluation, and feedback.
The Children’s Home is the first in Greater Cincinnati to formally implement the Teaching Family Model under the guidance of the Teaching Family Association. For more information about the Teaching Family Model, visit www.teaching-family.org
